Nepal Health News, Kathmandu: The 11th meeting of the board of the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences has approved the operation plan for a 50-bed satellite hospital in the Aathbiskot Municipality of Dailekh.
At the meeting held today at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar, it was decided to upgrade the previously existing 15-bed hospital in the area in line with the decision of the Government of Nepal's Cabinet. The Academy will proceed with the necessary processes to implement the decision. To ensure the infrastructure, manpower, and resources for the hospital, the Academy will propose plans to the Government of Nepal and other stakeholders.
During the meeting, Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Academy, KP Sharma Oli, directed that necessary consultations and cooperation be made with the local authorities to expedite the work.
He assured that since the Government of Nepal has fully funded the Academy from its inception, the government will provide maximum support for the easy access to healthcare services for the people in the area once the hospital is upgraded.
The meeting also passed the budget for the remaining period of the current fiscal year, and the internal auditor's report for the previous fiscal year was presented.
Additionally, the meeting approved the proposed annual program and budget for the next fiscal year, and the appointment of a new member to the Academy’s board was made.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Poudel, Member of the National Planning Commission Dr. RP Bichha, Vice-Chancellor of the Academy Dr. Mangal Rawal, among others.
