Nepal Health News, Bajura : After a long time, elderly people in remote villages of Bajura are seen smiling after regaining their eyesight. These elderly people, who had been suffering from vision problems due to cataracts for a long time, are now happy as they received eye surgeries in their village and regained their eyesight. Due to their poor financial condition, they were unable to seek treatment on their own, and as a result, they had been forced to live in darkness at home for a long period.
Keeping this situation in mind, the Himali Rural Municipality, in collaboration with the Nepal Red Cross Society, technical support from Surkhet Eye Hospital, and financial assistance from the Ruit Foundation Kathmandu, organized a free eye check-up camp for the local people in the remote villages of the area.
Local 70-year-old Jaisur Bhandari shared that he had lost his eyesight due to cataracts and expressed his happiness after being able to see again following the free eye camp in the village.
The camp was conducted from the 10th to the 13th of the past month, with camps held in each ward. From these camps, 103 people were selected for surgery, which was carried out on the 15th and 16th of the month at the municipality's health post. After regaining their lost eyesight, these people are now very happy, as mentioned by the Chief Administrative Officer, Bhandari.
