Corruption Allegations in Sanitary Pad Procurement: Case Filed in Special Court

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu – The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case in the Special Court against the then Chief Administrative Officer and other officials for alleged corruption in the procurement of sanitary pads in Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City, Bara.

For the fiscal years 2077/78 and 2078/79, a contract was signed for the procurement of sanitary pads at a rate of NPR 79.1 per packet.The Commission has filed a case demanding compensation of NPR 5,199,120 against the then Chief Administrative Officer Prahlad Prasad Barnwal, Education Officer Vijay Adhikari, Goods Chief Rajesh Thakur, and Accounts Officer Divya Sarraf for the alleged irregularities.
