11th Scientific Summit of Health Experts Begins on March 10

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu: The 11th National Health and Population Scientists' Summit is set to begin on March 10. The Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC) has announced that the summit will be held at The Soaltee Hotel, Kathmandu, from March 10 to March 12.


The theme of the summit is "Health, Climate, and Population Change: Advancing a Resilient and Equitable Health System for a Sustainable Future."


Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Vidya Bhattarai will inaugurate the event, which is expected to witness significant participation from national and international researchers, institutional representatives, policymakers, and development partners, as informed by NHRC Member Secretary Dr. Pramod Joshi.


According to Dr. Joshi, the summit's key objectives include promoting research in the fields of health and population, strengthening evidence-based decision-making processes, and fostering collaboration among scientific researchers and policymakers.


More than 1,000 national and over 100 international experts are expected to participate, with experts from India, China, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, the United States, and other countries joining both physically and virtually.


Various committees have been formed to ensure transparency in organizing the summit. Out of the 276 submitted research abstracts, the scientific committee has selected 87 for oral presentations and 115 for poster presentations. Additionally, 26 invited speakers and 2 keynote speakers will deliver special presentations focused on the summit's theme.

Outstanding contributions in 14 categories of health research will be honored with awards during the event.
