Health Minister Paudel Inaugurates Simulation Lab and Expanded Birthing Unit

 

Nepal Health News, Kathmandu :Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital, located in Thapathali, Kathmandu, has launched a simulation lab to enhance medical training.

The lab, established in the hospital's Kupondole building, aims to produce skilled healthcare professionals for the treatment and care of mothers and newborns. The lab was formally inaugurated on Monday by Minister for Health and Population, Pradeep Paudel, during a program organized by the hospital.

According to hospital director Dr. Shriprasad Adhikari, the simulation lab was built with joint investment from the hospital and One Heart Worldwide, an American charity organization supported by USAID. He stated that the lab will help in delivering quality training more efficiently.


Expansion of the Birthing Unit

In addition, Minister Paudel also inaugurated the newly expanded birthing unit at the hospital's old building. The birthing center, which previously had a capacity of 8 beds, has now been increased to 12 beds, marking a significant improvement in the hospital’s maternal care infrastructure.
